Seryna: Fantastic Japanese cuisine

My brother recently accepted an offer to work in Australia. On the last Sunday that he spent with us here in Manila, we decided to treat him at one of the best Japanese restaurants in the metro. Good thing that we made reservations days before or else we would not have gotten any seats. Seryna is always packed early – and that’s not an exaggeration.

uni and salmon sashimi

We made sure to order sashimi since it’s one of the highlights of eating at Seryna. Their sashimi is always fresh and prepared by a Japanese chef. We ordered two servings of Salmon Sashimi and Uni Sashimi. These were quickly finished off by the group.

octopus sashimi

We initially ordered two servings of Hamachi Sashimi, but was informed it wasn’t available for lunch that day. Dad decided to order a serving of tako (octopus) sashimi instead. They enjoyed this a lot, but we have to admit that for just 3 slices, it was pretty costly at Php420.00!

california maki
We didn’t forget to order two servings of Mom’s all-time favorites: the California Maki

kani salad

..and another two servings of Kani Salad. The parents didn’t enjoy this one too much because of the vinegar. They would have liked this better if it was smothered in Japanese mayo.

yakitori negima

Since Christine was on a medical diet, she just ordered four sticks of Yakitori Negima to have along with the veggies.

tonkatsu bento

The rest of the group, on the other hand, decided to go with the set lunches. I shared my Tonkatsu Bento with my eldest brother. A bento consists of your choice of “main dish” (mine was tonkatsu), a bowl of miso soup, a side dish, picked radish, a side salad, rice, and tamago slices.

mixed bento

Dad and Mom shared a type of mixed tempura bento. Dad enjoyed this a lot, which is a very big thing since he has very high standards when it comes to eating out.

kaisen bento

Dhya ordered the Kaisen Bento, which looked absolutely delicious. I wasn’t able to try anything from Dhya’s bento since I was already stuffed by the time his meal arrived (it was just an additional order). I might decide to try this the next time I visit Seryna.

sukiyaki bento

The Boyfriend decided to order the Sukiyaki Bento, which he enjoyed immensely. 🙂

It was such a great lunch out because everyone left the table with big smiles and full stomachs! 🙂 Dad’s even already asking me when we’ll be heading back, so we’ll probably going to drop by the place sooner than later! ♥

**Seryna is located at 2277 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. It’s right beside the Makati Cinema Square.
