I have another Hong Kong entry to share with you guys tonight!
On our second day, we decided to head to Causeway Bay and look for some of the items which we needed to buy. After roaming the streets and malls within the area, we decided that it was time to stop for a quick lunch before returning to our walking. The place which we decided to check out was the Macau Restaurant (澳門茶餐廳).
It took a while before we all decided on what to get for lunch, but once we were able to order we ended up with four dishes to enjoy with our white rice.
The first thing which arrived was this serving of tofu. I’m sorry but I really don’t remember what this dish was called. All I remember is that it was pretty good. I think I ate three to four pieces of this.
Another one is this pork dish served with some potatoes. The potatoes were nice, but I think the pork was just so-so. I don’t remember much about it.
They also ordered a serving of this fried spareribs dish.
The Boyfriend specifically requested to order this Lamb Curry. Although I think The Boyfriend and I handled this pretty well, it proved to be a bit too spicy for some of the people in our group. I know that the lamb curry doesn’t look like much in the photo above, but it was actually pretty good! Once we started digging deeper into the bowl, we realized that there were a lot of lamb chunks below the potato wedges. This dish is worth its price, in my opinion.
The Boyfriend and his mom were the only ones who ordered soda during the meal. They were served in stainless steel containers which reminded me of shakers.
I wasn’t able to take a snapshot of the Portuguese Egg Tart which The Boyfriend ordered on our way out, but he said that it was much like the ones we have here in Manila. If I remember correctly, Macau Restaurant was selling the egg tarts at HK$9 per piece.
It was a nice, filling meal for us at the Macau Restaurant. I would like to think that we made the right choice by eating at this place since there were a lot of locals who started to come in once lunch hour arrived. The little restaurant filled up quite fast. A line, albeit a relatively short one, was already outside when we were done and a group of 10 individuals was just ushered in a few minutes before. Overall a satisfying meal that kept us going for the rest of the afternoon. 🙂
