This past weekend was filled with so many activities at the store and was indeed a very busy two days for me and my parents. Despite that, I wasn’t going to say no when my good friend Louisa from Art of Being a Mom invited me to join her for another event at SM North EDSA.
I’ve known of Wham! Burgers’ existence for a long time, but I’ve never had the chance to set foot inside their establishment until that very Saturday afternoon. I liked the comic book inspired theme of the place since it lends a very different vibe compared to the other burger places in the metro.
Upon arrival, we were asked what drinks we wanted to have with our food. I chose Four Seasons (Php71.00). I later found out that their iced tea, juices and soda may be ordered in single serve or refillable versions. We were given the refillable one.
If you’re one of those people who love huge burgers, then the Double Whammy (Php200.00 for plain, Php260.00 with cheese) might be the perfect fit for you. This heavy thing consists primarily of two 1/3 pound all beef patties, ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomatoes. You may not see it in the photo above, but that second patty is hiding somewhere beneath the other cheese slice!
For those who would rather stick to just one patty but can’t live without bacon, you may want to try the Bronco (Php200.00). This one is composed of an all beef patty, American cheese, bacon strips, onion slices and barbecue sauce.
I don’t think there’s any burger joint that can call itself complete if they don’t have chips or fries on their menu. Wham! Burgers served us two kinds: the regular french fries (Php73.00) and their Cross Trax (Php80.00). I liked the latter one more because it came pre-seasoned with barbecue and the texture was a lot more crispy.
Another type of sides which we were able to sample was their Pepper Poppers (Php82.00). I had no idea what to expect from these little guys when they were served, but I went ahead and gave them a try.
One bite revealed melted cheese and bits of jalapeño peppers inside. I really like cheeses and jalapeño peppers, so this was a winner for me. Just a word of caution for you: these little fellas are served really hot, so be careful when you take your first bite. You wouldn’t want to burn your tongue.
If you’re looking for something a little different, Wham! Burgers also serve items like chicken sandwiches and Hungarian sausage sandwiches.
