When you find yourself looking for a good place to eat when you’re at Eastwood City, head to the second floor of Eastwood Mall and give Potts Point Café a try. This restaurant prides itself in serving good food using organic ingredients.
Chef James Torres and Chef Joaquin Migallos were both in the kitchen during our visit, preparing the items which we were able to enjoy.
The Organic Sausage and Bacon Pizza Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette (Php275.00) was the first item to be served and it was surprisingly good! The thin and crunchy base plus the salad greens, tomatoes, sausages and bacon placed on top was a great mix of textures and flavors. This is a dish I would recommend you get when you visit this restaurant!
If you’re into eating bread, you can try their Grilled Three Cheese Toast with Creamy Organic Tomato Puree Dip (Php230.00) or….
their Strawberry, Kiwi and Ricotta Cheese Crumpets with Organic Honey and Hot Chocolate (Php220.00), for a slightly sweet-sour combination.
Next is one of my favorite dishes: the Eggs Benedict (Php385.00). I enjoy ordering this dish whenever I go to any place which serve all-day breakfasts, and Potts Point Café is no exception. Who can resist bacon and nicely poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce? Not me!
Their Pan-Seared Salmon with Dill Butter, Beet Root Puree and Creamy Mashed Potato (Php495.00) was another memorable dish. The salmon was nicely cooked and was complemented well by the beet root puree. I loved the mashed potatoes too; I honestly wished there was more of it to enjoy.
For pasta loving people, Potts Point Café has Roasted Eggplant, Cherry Tomatoes and Goat Cheese with Creamy Organic Tomato Sauce Linguine (Php275.00) on the menu. Like most of their dishes, this one looked so simple, but it won the hearts of a lot of my companions.
The Squid Ink Spaghetti with Cherry Tomatoes, Parmesan Shaves, Arugula and Fried Calamari (Php285.00): a dish that a lot of people will end up warning you about. Don’t get us wrong, though! It’s a divine dish which you will undoubtedly enjoy, but it will leave a stain on your lips and teeth. Thankfully, it’s nothing permanent and will be eventually removed when you eat other things. Just steer clear of it when you’re on a first date, in a business meeting or any event where you need to impress your companions. 😉
One of my other favorite entrees for that afternoon was the Vietnamese-Style Organic Slow Roast Pork Belly with Nuoc Cham and Pineapple Fried Rice (Php375.00). The pork belly was so tender and the fried rice was the perfect accompaniment to it. A must-try when you find yourself dining here.
When you’re at Potts Point Café, please make sure you save some room for dessert. Their dainty Strawberry, Kiwi and Mango Trifle with Light Vanilla Custard and Cookie Crumble (Php185.00) comes in a small glass and doesn’t look like much, but trust me when I tell you that it’s a lovely way to end your meal. The light vanilla custard really blends beautifully with the crunch of the crushed cookies.
Their Warm Caramel Walnut Pie with Thyme Vanilla Ice Cream (Php210.00) was met with much enthusiasm when it was served to us. I found this too sweet for my liking so just a spoonful was already okay for me.
Last but not the least, the Oozin Ozzie Chocolate Cake a la mode (Php245.00) is one of those things which you’d be thankful they existed. It’s a rich, dark and addictive dessert which I wouldn’t mind having again and again!
If you’d rather end your meal in a different way, I suggest you give their coffee a shot. Potts Point Café serve Delano Specialty Coffee to their coffee-loving clientele. This brand comes all the way from Sydney, Australia and promises the use of sustainable coffee for their products.
*Potts Point Café is located at the 2nd floor Veranda area of Eastwood Mall in Quezon City.
